So I just viewed my profile and realised I still had this blog active (and untouched for about 6 and a half years).
Over that time I have: completed the "Perfect Sweater" and immediately ruined it in a drink-related incident on first wearing, bought as many yarns as years I've been alive, knitted 5 assorted Christmas presents, 4 teddies for babies (& my mum), had 4 house moves, held 3 jobs (with another starting next month), made 2 hats, 2 jumpers, planned one wedding, created a pair of mittens, half a glove and I am just today finishing off my very first design project. But I can't tell you about that yet because it's a secret.
My knitting has come in waves over that time and is currently back at a peak, with my obsession growing and my list of promises growing longer.
This week is my birthday and, as my birthday treat, I'm making my very considerate hubby take me to my very first Woolfest.
I will be back to update you when my secret project is less secret and my yarn count exceeds my age.

Progress
I seem to be getting through this in record time. Despite not entirely neglecting my social and work life and getting distracted by a variety of things I'll start but never finish, I've already finished the back on the sweater. And I always considered myself a really slow knitter.
Still, I'm sure the Christmas break had something to do with all the spare time spent getting this far. The rest of it should be done for next winter?!?

Starting to knit
After not picking up any knitting since first learning when I was still less than 10 years old, I've started up again.
On a whim I found a pattern and purchased goods (well... got the other half [TOH] to do the buying bit). After a couple months or so, I finished the bulk of it in the last 2 or 3 days and in the Christmas spirit promptly passed it on to my mum [MUM]. To be honest, it was a poor effort and didn't fit well, but she seemed to like it quite a bit and readily took all evidence of rubbishness off my hands. How happy does she look?
I mostly finished it to get started on something new and not so boring with my new Christmas yarns. Mother of TOH [MOTOH] provided me with some very nice yarns and I am now afforded the luxury of knitting a sweater I will never be able to wash, thus adding to my dry-clean only pile of clothes. This is the first look at my new sweater/jumper/jersey/pullover (whatever you call it).
